About

This blog is managed by members of the Network of Women in Media, India. It is a space where media coverage of elections can be examined through a gender lens to reveal how women and other genders are represented (or not) and portrayed in election-related news – as voters, candidates, party members and leaders, election officials, etc. The blog also aims to scrutinise politicians and political parties in terms of their record on gender equality, including in election manifestos and strategies, and their approach to the female electorate.
